Jason Bateman took some heat for defending Jeffrey Tambor during an âArrested Developmentâcast interview, where Jessica Walter said that Jeffrey had verbally harassed her on the set.
Jason has apologized in a series of Tweets, which included him saying, âI realize that I was wrong hereâĻIâm incredibly embarrassed and deeply sorry to have done that to Jessica. This is a big learning moment for me.
âI shouldnât have tried so hard to mansplain, or fix a fight, or make everything okay. Thereâs never any excuse for abuse, in any form, from any gender.â
Tony Hale and David Cross were also criticized for downplaying Jeffreyâs abuse, and theyâre also apologizing.
Tony said heâs reached out to Jessica personally to apologize, and David talked about the situation at length with âThe Gothamistâ, and said heâd also apologize to her for their behavior.
Interestingly, he also suggested that Jessica lost her temper with âan actress,â but that she apologized. But he said Jeffreyâs blow-up was a bigger deal.
