Â
Itâs been FOUR MONTHS since ABC announced that theyâre bringing âAmerican Idolâ back, and that Katy Perry will be the lead judge. Now, theyâve finally secured Judge #2.
âVarietyâ says Luke Bryan has finally agreed to terms. Thereâs no official announcement yet, but supposedly itâs only a matter of time.
Luke has been in âIdolâsâ cross-hairs for a while, but according to reports, he was holding out for more money because the show was low-balling him.
Thereâs no word on how much heâs making, but itâll be a fraction of the $25 million that Katy is raking in.
Thereâs still no word on a third judge and at the rate this is going, you might not want to hold your breath. That said, filming is set to begin in a week, so theyâre really under the gun.
Luke hasnât commented, and he probably wonât until the ink dries.
Ryan Seacrest wouldnât comment on the judge situation in an interview with âBillboard,â but he did suggest that âIdolâ could be the thing that heals the country. He said, â[Itâs] what the country needs right now. I think itâs a good time for a big family show.â
