Ed Sheeranâs hit âShape of Youâ has been dominating Billboardâs Hot 100 chart. Which isnât surprising for anyone whoâs spent most of the year trying DESPERATELY to escape it.
âShape of Youâ has spent 33 weeks in the Top 10 on the Hot 100, and thatâs a record. No other song has been in the Top 10 for that longâĻdating back to the chartâs inception back in 1958.
The song debuted at #1 back in January and it hasnât left the Top 10 since.
The previous record was held by both The Chainsmokers and LeAnn Rimes. âCloserâ by the Chainsmokers spent 32 weeks in the Top 10 last year, and LeAnnâs âHow Do I Liveâ did its 32 weeks back in 1997.
âUptown Funk!â by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars was in the Top 10 for 31 weeks a couple years ago, and âSmoothâ by Santana and Rob Thomas did it for 30 weeks back in 1999.
